Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Kampala – Kidepo Valley National Park
After an early Breakfast in your hotel, our driver-guide will pick you from the hotel reception to start on your journey to Kidepo Valley National Park using the shortest (656 km) route which will take you from Kampala – Soroti – Kotido via Amuria to the far North-East where Uganda borders Kenya and Southern Sudan. You will go through the Mabira forest for a cool braze and also have an opportunity of viewing some of the Park animals and birds found close by the camp. Sign in to National park Bandas at Apoka.
Staying at Apoka Lodge (Dinner)
Day 2: Game drive and Cultural experience
After an early morning breakfast, get on a morning game drive that will take you through the Narus Valley to see herds of buffaloes, elephants, giraffes, zebras and hopefully some lions, leopard and the elusive cheetah. This will also enable you to be in full sight of varieties of birds as well. Stops will be made at any time for you to be able to take pictures of fabulous wildlife and birds along the way.
En route to your camp for lunch and have a brief rest, until evening where you will go for a cultural tour in the Karamajong community. Here you will spend a wonderful evening with Karamojong people and have an insight of their way of life and beliefs.
Return to Apoka Lodge for Dinner and an overnight.
Day 3: Game viewing and Nature walk
After an early breakfast, go for a nature walk to view a variety of fauna and flora species in the park. Return to your camp for lunch and a brief rest. Take another exciting game drive across savannah, hills, small forests, dry river beds and rings of mountains around you.
Day 4: Kidepo – Kampala
After an early breakfast and having experienced the beautiful scenery of Kidepo valley National park, travel back to Kampala having lunch en-route on the way. The travel time from Kidepo National Park to Kampala is about 9 Hours.
